Hi,

The option to copy and paste MailTags keywords is not working. When I select a message with tags, the menu choices are grayed out. In addition, although preferences has automatically add keywords to replies, etc., the keywords are not propagating forward.

The Console error messages that come up include the following:

(Normal) ImportServer: Ignoring blacklisted Spotlight importer plugin:/Users/norm/Library/Spotlight/MailTags.mdimporter uuid:FEA42B47-D063-41F2-B535-617B46862C66 version:3.0b1832

Thanks,

Norm

    Norm,

I am not seeing this behaviour in my copy. can you insure that you are using the lates pre-release (b2542). If not, can you install it from the link below and let us know if it resolves the issue.

    Hi,

I installed the version you mentioned. This appears to occur when selecting an individual message with tags when in conversation view. If one selects a message from the conversation in the message viewer, the copy/paste mailtags option is grayed out; however, if one expands the conversation thread in the message list and then selects one of the messages, one can copy/past MailTags. In Mountain Lion, one could select the message in the Message Viewer without expanding the message list to copy and paste tags.

    Does that make sense?

    Norm,

This is not a bug. You could conceivably have different tags on different messages in the conversation, and the request to copy paste is ambiguous. Do you want one tag on all messages, or different. You can paste all tags to a conversation, it will delete any individual tags that were on messages and make them all the same.

    Hope this is clear,
    Beth

Ok. That makes sense; however, one could previously select an individual message in a thread in the message viewer and copy those tags without having to expand the conversation in the message list to first select the message and copy the tags.

Also, tags don’t seem to be reliably being carried forward in replies despite “copy keywords to replies,” “copy projects to replies,” and "include tags in outgoing messages” is selected in preferences. Is this a known bug?

    Norm,

Can you try the attached version of MailTags and see if your tags are being carried forward correctly.

    http://www.indev.ca/prereleases/MailTags4/MailTags4.0b2554_20131030-1149.dmg

If not, can you tell whether it is on all your accounts or a specific account (Like works for Gmail, but not iCloud ...).

    Thanks,
    Beth

Seems to be working, but I’m getting a lot of spinning pizza wheels.

Also the tags are only appearing in the message list, but not in the message header.

    Norm,

Can you explain "Also the tags are only appearing in the message list, but not in the message header" Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the tags to be written to the headers. Also with gmail accounts and Exchange (EWS) tags are not stored in the headers.

See attached screen shot. It is fixed in 2558.
