MAO on Exchange Server 2010
Hi,
as my university switched to an Exchange server I managed to use
mail with exchange so I'm revising my mail act on rules, but
nothing seems to work. I started creating an outbox rule to
auto-file replied messages in an archive folder on the server
The outbox rules is the following:
Every message
set color to white
apply act-on rule that: delete a keyword and move the message to the appropriate exchange folder
(on my private account in iCloud same rule setting works) I also
tried to set the rule as follows:
Every message
set color to white
remove keyword (after "remove color" and after "move to exchange")
but no way
Any help? For what I know (not an expert MAO user) it should work
with exchange servers and that's a very basic use, what am i
missing?
thx

Hi Scott - yes, I can replicate the functionality you are demonstrating. The outbox rules that do not work for me are ones where the Act On Rule has to execute an AppleScript. I can execute the script with a Control key successfully, but as soon as I put it in a rule, no luck.

Hi, I am wondering if my problem is related. We are on Exchange 2010 and on Lion 10.7.3 I am having a problem with an outbox rule which moves a sent message to an archive folder as well as "prior messages". It is working for the sent message but not the prior messages which stay sitting in the inbox.
It was working but suddenly stopped working about a week ago. I think the problem may have started when I upgraded Mailtags to Preview 3.2.
Any thoughts?

PS I tried the new build of MAO in post 19 but it didn't help.
Also I have an odd situation where two built-in inbox rules are continually being duplicated: "Junk" and "Add Invitations Automatically". Whenever I delete the duplicate rules they reappear a little while later.

Same here (duplicated Junk mail). i thought it was a Mail configuration problem: now I have 2 rules for junk mail. It appears that it creates one each time i open mail...

Hi
I made a significant progress on some exchange problems today.
In some situations a downstream of a message update would happen before the upstream of the tag update. The downstream would have the old tags (or none) and it would set the freshly changed tags to that information.
I have set it so that once a message has been tagged locally, it will ignore any server side "updates" until it has performed its update.
Here is a build to test

BTW this build also fixes the junkmail/ical rule duplications

Thanks Scott, unfortunately that did not solve me issue where I cannot get it to execute AppleScript on an outbox rule (based on a certain tag being present).

@Spinal Tap -- I believe you have a separate issue because Applescript is involved -- would you mind starting a new discussion and describe the problem so that I can properly attach a bug ticket to it as a separate issue.
Thanks
Scott

Thanks Scott, I have opened a new thread.

Thanks Scott:
unfortunately no luck! It seems that nothing changed. Could you suggest a 'strategy' to make better attempts to localize more precisely the problem? I mean: rules in sent messages now work. It seems also, for example, that rules that set different color (in original message) works but I can't be sure as it could also be an issue related the server not being able to stick the info in the message.
Thx
Nestor

Thanks. The new build seems to have fixed the duplicated rules but alas not the outbox rule!
