After moving a message to a new folder, highlight the next message

Hi,

I like to look at messages in the Inbox in reverse chronological order, ie the new messages appear on the top of the screen.

In the past (a year ago), when I applied a rule on a message that moved that message to the different folder, the next message (older message) got high lighted. So when you review your messages, you start from the top and you keep archiving them if you have with an Act-On rule and short cut and move to the next message.

However, I reinstalled Mail Act on a new Mac and I noticed that now the previous message gets highlighted, which is really annoying.

Is there any way to change that?
Thanks,
Tibbs

This is something I just discovered today for another user.

Mail has a hidden preference to turn this off.

    open terminal and type

    defaults write com.apple.mail IgnoreSortOrderWhenSelectingAfterDelete 1

And things should work as desired

This is great, it worked pefect. This solved my other super annoying problem, when using regular delete, the highlight would go again to the previous message. I used to use a Mail Act-On rule just for this, so that CTRL-D would do a delete the message, instead of regular delete.
    Thanks a million!!!!
