Mailtags3.0b1663 interface change?

After updating to Mac OS 10.7 & MailTags3.0b1663 I've found a rather disturbing interface change. Rather than changing the background color of an eMail in the message list MT3 now only uses a small color rectangle at the bottom of the message rather than coloring the entire background of the message as it always did. This is removing an important feature in my book. Easy (and savable) identification using background color is one of the main reasons I purchased MailTags. I look at my mail list and know the project an item is associated with easily, because of the background color.

Am I missing something here?

I like the new behavior ... but it would be nice if I could choose to also have MT3 change the background color as it always did. Even if it was a prefs choice. I'd rather have a choice than a function removed. See attached example ... for a way to have both. : )

There is an option in the preferences (color Tab) to color the message according to the tags to revert to the old behaviour.

We found that the new method allowed people to see multiple colors and when you have several lines of preview it was less glaring. But given that people liked the old approach, we left it in as an option

    Scott ...

Thanks for the quick reply. But I've now checked the pref and made Project be the first in the list, but it's not making the background color the color of the Project. And I'm now updated to b1668 as well.

Am I being incredibly dense? Is there something else I need to do?

    Thanks ... Joe

    Hi Joe

What color does it seem to be giving it (the message color, tickled date color, or importance color?

It's still white, no background color at all. And the colored rectangle icon still appears with the Project label as it did before I check the pref to color background.

It seems to be giving none of those colors. As a temporary measure Ive had to add filtering to change the message color coming into my inbox. Though none of my filed IMAP mail is background colored as it should be.

Seems like the color background pref isn't doing anything. I've tried trashing MT3 prefs from the library ... but that doesn't fix the issue.

Just to say that I am seeing the same issue as Joe. With preferences set to colour email background according to project, I am still seeing white background with coloured rectangle icon.
